Colleen Favaro Named First Team Daktronics Division II All-Southwest Region

Nov. 14, 2007

On Wednesday, Texas A&M University-Commerce senior middle blocker Colleen Favaro was named to the First Team Daktronics Division II All-Southwest Region Volleyball Team.

Favaro was a four-time all-Lone Star Conference selection, including first team honors as a junior and as senior. She set the A&M-Commerce school record for kills with 1,793 kills as a senior. Favaro is currently seventh in the nation and leads the Lone Star Conference with 4.86 kills per game. Favaro also ranks 17th in the LSC and 337th in the nation in hitting percentage (.234). She also was a three-time Lone Star Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week in 2007.

With the first team selection, she moves on to the ballot for All-American honors. Favaro becomes the third player in school history to earn Daktronics All-Region honors, joining Lauren Flynn in 2006 and Amy Wallace in 2001. Alice Fortes in 1987, Paulette Pilcik in 1986 and 1987 and Angie Neylon in 1986 earned AVCA All-South Central Region honors.
