THE LIONS TRIP FROM DENTON
The Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions continued conference play Saturday, playing Texas Woman's University. The Lions played strong, but were swept by the Pioneers in three games (20-30,23-30,26-30). The ladies are now 9-17 overall, as they prepare for their last away game against non-conference opponent Dallas Baptist University, Tuesday Nov. 1.
COMPETING AGANIST THE LADY PATRIOTS
A&M-Commerce comes into this weekend's match, on a 0-4 losing streak since their performance at the Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament, Oct. 14-15. Tuesday's match up will be the first time that the Lions have met the Lady Patriots in seasonal play since Sept. 20, 2004, where the Lions won the match in four games (30-23,30-23, 30-32,and 30-26).
The last time A&M-Commerce met the ladies of DBU, Libero Jackie Orr had 47 assist, and Colleen Favaro left the match with 16 kills.
THE LIONS IN ACTIONS
The Lions were led by Jane Latu, recorded 10 kills against the TWU Pioneers. Setter Alicia Capparelli, recorded a career-high of 63 assists against Midwestern State on Thursday and a team high of 34 assists against the Pioneers.
DBU comes into this week's action, with a 3-1 win against Southwestern in their home arena. Tuesday's game is set to begin at 7:00.
