Oct. 15, 2007

For the third time in 2007 and the fifth time in her career, Texas A&M University-Commerce senior Colleen Favaro earned Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.

The San Antonio native had back-to-back double-double performances in the Lions' two matches, last week against Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M. She had a match-high 16 kills to go along with 13 digs against Eastern New Mexico in a straight-set win over the Zias. Against West Texas A&M, she had a match-high 21 kills and 13 digs in the loss to the No. 16 Lady Buffs.

Favaro is currently second in the Lone Star Conference in kills per game, averaging 4.70 kills a contest and in last week's national rankings, she was 17th in Division II.
