LIONS COME UP SHORT IN EDMOND

EDMOND, OKLA.. - The Texas A&M University- Commerce volleyball Lions lost a 3-0 battle against the University of Central Oklahoma, Saturday at Hamilton Field House in Edmond.

The Lady Bronchos moved to 16-6 overall, and remain undefeated in conference play with a 6-0 record in the LSC North, with the scores of 30-19, 30-15, and 30-13.

The Lions coming into the game after a Thursday night loss against Cameron University, looked to break a two-game losing streak against the Lady Bronchos this week. A&M-Commerce fell to 1-4 in divisional play and 6-13 overall.

Standout for the week was freshman Brittany Williams, who recorded 7 kills. Other contributions from the Lady Lions were Alicia Capparelli, with 12 assist for the game. The Lions came out of the series with 8.5 team blocks against the Bronchos.

The Bronchos marched to their seventh straight victory for the season with Katie Schult leading her team in attacks with 12, and Stephanie Ball with 33 assists.

The Lions continue LSC North play on Friday, October 14 when they travel to Denton, to participate in a crossover tournament, beginning with Angelo State at 9 a.m.
