LIONS FALL SHORT TO THE PATRIOTS

DALLAS,Texas - The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's volleyball fell short to the Patriots of Dallas Baptist University, 3-1(30-25, 30-18, 24-30 and 30-18) Tuesday night. A&M-Commerce lost a close first game, with several lead changes, until the Patriots went on a 3-0 run late in the game, pushing DBU to the victory.
The Lions fell short in the second game of the match, as DBU went on a 9-0 run to help close out the game. A&M-Commerce began to rally back in game three, with a close victory due to two kills committed by Colleen Favaro late in the game. However, they couldn't hold on the momentum gained, to keep the Patriots at bay. Standouts for the Lions were sophomore middle blocker Colleen Favaro, leading the team with 16 kills overall, and libreo Jackie Orr with 32 digs in the contest. Setter Alicia Capperelli was also there for the Lions offensively with 46 assists, while Favaro tallied two blocks against the Patriots. The Lions dropped to 9-18 overall and remain 1-8 in Lone Star Conference North Division with just two games left to play. A&M-Commerce will resume north division play Thursday, Nov. 3, when they return home to take on the ladies of Central Oklahoma. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse.
