VOLLEYBALL SURRENDERS LATE GAMES

WICHITA FALLS,Texas - The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's volleyball team continued road action this week by taking on Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference action. MSU won on scores of 28-30, 30-25, 26-30, 31-29 and 16-14 (3-2). The Lady Indians (23-10, 4-5) fell to the Lions (9-16, 1-6) in the first set, then rallied back in the second, leading the Lions the whole game. The Lions regained momentum with a 4-0 run late in the third game, keeping MSU at bay. However, the Lions could not hold on in the fourth or decisive fifth game. Defensively, the Lions had a total of 13 blocks against the Lady Indians. Outside hitter Brittany Williams led the team with three blocks, as two blocks came in the fourth game alone. The leaders for the Lady Indians were Allison Schreiber, who had 57 assists in the match, and Candice Main with a match high of four blocks in the win.
The Lions return to LSC North action Saturday, when they travel to Denton to play Texas Woman's. The match is schedule to begin at 2:00 p.m. |
