A&M-Commerce Suffers 3-0 Loss to Central Oklahoma

The Texas A&M-Commerce volleyball team dropped a three-game decision to Lone Star Conference opponent Central Oklahoma (24-30, 21-30, 20-30) Thursday at the Hamilton Field House. In what began as a back-and-forth battle, Central Oklahoma broke an 11-11 tie and led by as many as seven en route to a 30-24 game one victory. Junior middle blocker Colleen Favaro had a game-high six kills to lead the Lions attack and freshman libero Lauren Flynn led all players with 13 digs in the loss. A&M-Commerce (11-18, 4-7) opened up an early lead in game two, but the Bronchos scored five consecutive points to reclaim the lead 6-5. UCO did not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game on their way to a 30-21 win. Junior middle blocker Wannie Neal had a team-high five kills and sophomore outside hitter Brittany Williams recorded four kills and four digs in the defeat. Kelsey Reynolds tallied a game-high eight kills to pace the Broncho's attack. Central Oklahoma (19-10, 8-3) finished out the match with a 30-20 game-three victory. Favaro led the Lions with four kills and Flynn recorded a game-high nine digs to lead the A&M-Commerce defensive effort. Penny Wascovich had a game-high five kills to lead UCO. Colleen Favaro finished the match with a team-high 13 kills and Lauren Flynn led all players with 24 digs. Brittany Williams recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 10 kills and 14 digs in the loss. Kelsey Reynolds had a match-high 14 kills for Central Oklahoma and Lacie Allen tallied a team-high 22 digs for the Bronchos. The Lions round out their regular season schedule on Saturday as they take on Cameron at 7 p.m. in Lawton, Oklahoma.
