LIONS COME CLOSE TO THE LADY BULLDOGS

Oct. 20, 2005

Final Stats

WEATHERFORD, OKLA.-- The Lions headed to Weatherford this Thursday to take on the Lady Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University to continue conference play. The Lions played a hard match, but fell to the Lady Bulldogs to a heartbreaking score of 3-2.

The Lions, now 1-6 in Division North conference play, won their first two sets against the Lady Bulldogs with 30-22 victories. The Lady Bulldogs later rallied back in the third and fourth games, and won the decisive fifth with a score 14-16 to keep the Lions at bay.

Standouts for the Lions' offense were junior transfer middle blocker Jane Latu, with 20 kills for the game and Alicia Capparelli with 50 assist.

The Lions will be back in action on Oct. 27, when they will travel to Wichita Falls, to take on the Midwestern State University Lady Indians. Game time is set for 7:00.
