Lions Post Straight-Set Win Over Eastern New Mexico

The Texas A&M University-Commerce won its fourth-straight home match on Thursday night in a 30-17, 30-26, 30-21 win over Eastern New Mexico in a Lone Star Conference contest.

In the win, A&M-Commerce out hit the visiting Zias .309 to .032. The .309 is the third highest clip for the Lions in 2007. Senior Colleen Favaro recorded a double-double in the win a match-high 16 kills and 13 digs; plus freshman Rachel Lance added 11 kills in the win. The Katy, Texas native hit at a season-high .409 clip and fellow freshman Terra Ousley hit at a team-best .467 average with nine kills on 15 attempts. With the win, A&M-Commerce raises its record to 8-13 overall and 2-4 in the Lone Star Conference.

Eastern New Mexico (3-19 overall, 0-6 LSC) got a team-high eight kills and block solos from Randi Egley. The Zias attack was supplemented by five service aces.

Next, A&M-Commerce will put its perfect 4-0 home record on the line against conference leader West Texas A&M on Saturday at 11 am at the A&M-Commerce Field House.
