Commerce, TexasThe Texas A&M University-Commerce opened up the 2007 season with a convincing 30-19, 30-13, 30-16 win over Wiley College at the Texoma Challenge in Durant, Oklahoma.

The Lions (1-0) hit at a .351 clip in the win, including an impressive .500 clip in game two. Three players recorded double-digit kills as senior Colleen Favaro led the team with a match-high 13. She was joined by senior Jana Starkweeather, who added 11 and freshman Rachel Lance had 10 in her A&M-Commerce debut.

Lance also contributed a team-high three service aces. Sophomore Lauren Flynn had a match-high 19 digs and freshman Devin Friedman added 10. The Texas A&M-Commerce attack held Wiley to a -.011 hitting percentage in the defeat.

The two-day Texoma Challenge resumes for the Lions on Saturday as they face Henderson State at 10 a.m. and host Southeastern Oklahoma at 3 p.m.
