Lions Women Soccer Receive National Recognition

The Texas A&M-Commerce women's soccer team finds itself ranked No. 8 along with St. Mary's (Texas) in the latest NCAA Midwest Regional Poll. The Lions are currently in first place in the Lone Star Conference with a record of 5-4-3 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.

Four of the Lions upcoming opponents are also ranked in the poll, including this weekend's non-conference contests against Regis (No. 7 in the region) on Friday at 4 p.m. and Metro State (No. 1 in the region and No. 2 in the nation) on Sunday at noon. Both matches will be played at the A&M-Commerce Soccer Complex. In addition, LSC foes West Texas A&M is No. 2 and Central Oklahoma is No. 6.

In other soccer news, in the latest NCAA statistical rankings, senior goalkeeper Amber Ramoz is 26th in the nation with a .857 save percentage and in Lone Star Conference rankings; Ramoz leads the conference with five shutouts.
