Commerce, TexasTwo Bailey Geels goals led Texas A&M-Commerce to a 2-0 victory over Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon at the A&M-Commerce Soccer Complex.

Geels scored her first of two goals at the 26:17 mark when freshman Megan Monroe set up the senior tri-captain on a crossing pass for the first goal of the season. 43 seconds later, Geels added her second goal of the day with a shot to the left corner of the goal to put A&M-Commerce in front 2-0.

The Lions outshot Southwest Baptist 17-11 in the shutout. Sophomore Jennifer Alvarado recorded a shutout in her first game between the pipes to go with four saves on 11 shots.

Texas A&M-Commerce continues its season-opening homestand on Thursday afternoon at 4 pm when they will face Ouachita Baptist.
