Lions Finish Third at Lone Star Conference Championship

With three players in the top 16, the Texas A&M University-Commerce finished in third place at the Lone Star Conference Championship in Thackerville, Oklahoma at the WinStar Golf Resort. Ahead of the Lions was No. 5 Tarleton State with a 602 (302-300) and No. 9 Northeastern State with a 612 (311-301).

For the victorious TexAnns, who won by 10 strokes over the RiverHawks, the top four golfers finished in the top 10 led by the third-place finish of Andrea Lowe.

NSU was led by Courtney Epps, who shot an even-par 144 (75-69) to edge teammate Stephanie Bird by two strokes for the indivdiual title.

The Lions shot a 640 (318-322) and were led by sophomore Heather Pantalion, who just missed all-conference honors with a 156 (78-78) and junior Jamie Gililland was 12th with a 157 (78-79).

Freshman Megan Benites tied for 16th with a 162 (79-83) and junior Ali Tanner lowed her score by a stroke in Tuesday's final round for a 165 (83-82) en route to a 22nd-place finish and freshman Mallory Kempf moved into a tie for 36th with a nine-stroke improvement for a 181 (95-86).
