Britney Jordan Named Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Week

Nov. 26, 2007

For the fourth time in her career and the first time in 2007-08, junior guard Britney Jordan was named Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Week on Monday.

The All-American candidate from Peoria, Illinois scored 39 points in the Lions' 79-76 loss to No. 6 Washburn in the championship game of the Capitol Plaza Hotel/580 WIBW Radio Holiday Classic. She scored 31 of her 39 points in the second half, in addition to a career-high eight three pointers. During a stretch in the second half, she scored eight points as the Lions were trailing 47-45 and rallied to put the Lions ahead 53-49 with 10:07 left in the game.

In last Thursday's game against Rockhurst, she had a season-high five assists and 17 points and in her 2007-08 debut, against Paul Quinn, last Tuesday, she had 15 points.

A&M-Commerce is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation in the latest USA TODAY ESPN Division II Top 25 women's basketball poll. The Lions are back in action on Monday night against Southern Arkansas at home at 6 pm in the A&M-Commerce Field House.
