Texas A&M University-Commerce head women's basketball coach Denny Downing announced on Thursday the signing of Rekeshia Jones to a letter of intent.

The 6-foot-3 post will come to A&M-Commerce from Saddleback College. Last year, as a freshman, she averaged 11.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 2.3 blocks per game. In Orange Empire Conference games, she averaged 13.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.2 blocked shots per game for the Gauchos en route to earning all-conference honors. Prior to attending Saddleback College, she attended El Camino High School in Oceanside.

Saddleback College is also the alma mater to former Lions guard Hazel Woods.

"We are extremely excited to have Rekeshia join our program. She will help make us a better team," said Downing.
