Kanani Marshal Earns All-American Honors

Texas A&M-Commerce senior guard Kanani Marshal was selected as a third-team honoree on the Daktronics/Division II Sports Information Directors Women's Basketball All-America Team, it was announced Thursday. She is the first-ever All-American in school history for women's basketball.

Texas A&M-Commerce senior guard Kanani Marshal was selected as a third-team honoree on the Daktronics/Division II Sports Information Directors Women's Basketball All-America Team, it was announced Thursday.


Marshal led the Lions to the most successful season in school history, culminating with a spot in the Elite Eight. The Madison, Wisconsin native set the NCAA single-season record with 145 three pointers made. In addition, she also set three single-game records (three pointers made, three pointers attempted and steals), five single-season records (points, three pointers made, three pointers attempted, three point field goal percentage and steals) and seven career records (three pointers made, three pointers attempted, three-point field goal percentage, two-year free throw percentage, assists, two-year assists per game and steals).





In addition, Marshal earned multiple honors including: First Team Daktronics South Central All-Region Team, NCAA South Central Regional Tournament MVP, NCAA South Central Regional All-Tournament Team, Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Year, First Team All-Lone Star Conference North Division, three-time Lone Star Conference Player of the Week and the Disney Tip Off Classic All-Tournament Team.


Marshal and the Lions established a total of 40 new school records, including six individual single-game records, three team single-game records, nine individual single-season records, 14 team single-season records and eight career records.
