Lions Down Eastern New Mexico 79-59 in Lone Star Conference Crossover Action

Junior forward Katedria Mosley recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Texas A&M University-Commerce to a 79-59 victory over Eastern New Mexico in Lone Star Conference crossover action on Saturday at the A&M-Commerce Field House.

In the win, the Lions shot 46% from the field and outscored the Zias 36-12 in the paint. Senior guard Kanani Marshall scored a game-high 21 points and sophomore guard Britney Jordan added 16 to help the Lions break a four-game losing streak.

The win moves the Lions to 6-6 on the season, while the Zias fall to 6-2 on the year.

The Zias hit 41% of their shots from the field and were led by guard Heather Brown, who scored 17 points. Forward Elizabeth Richards added 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field.

The Lions forced 16 Zias' turnovers in the first half, which led to 19 of the Lions 42 first half points. A&M-Commerce connected on six threes in the first half to take a 42-30 lead into the locker room.

Jordan led the Lions with 13 points in the first half, while Marshall added eight points and two three pointers. Heather Brown led all scorers in the first half with 15 points for Eastern New Mexico.

The Lions outscored Eastern New Mexico 37-29 in the second half and shot 47% from the floor to cruise to the 20-point victory. A&M-Commerce held the Zias to a 32% field goal percentage in the second half to earn the win.

The Lions host the University of Texas at Tyler on December 19. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the A&M-Commerce Field House.
