Lions Fall to Prairie View A&M, 77-73

Nov. 18, 2006

Final Stats

Prairie View, Texas

Despite four Texas A&M-Commerce players in double figures, host Prairie View A&M defeated the Lions, 77-73. The Panthers rallied from a 15-point deficit, 51-36, with a 24-8 run midway through the second half in the win.

In both of the Lions losses, Texas A&M-Commerce has held double-digit leads in the second half before surrendering them in the losing cause. The Lions were led by senior Kanani Marshal, who scored 16 points. Britney Jordan added 13, Tradawn Short tallied 12 and Dawn Montgomery pumped in 11. The Lions fall to 3-2 on the season and Prairie View A&M wins its season opener to go to 1-0.

Shavonne Smith scored 23 and Gaati Werma added 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers over the Lions. Foul trouble plagued the Lions as the frontline of Tradawn Short and Katedria Mosley both fouled out in the contest; in addition, Prairie View forced 32 A&M-Commerce turnovers.

Texas A&M-Commerce is back in action on Friday at 4 p.m. where they will face Incarnate Word at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Classic.
