Mosley Scores 30 in 88-77 Loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State

Senior Katedria Mosley scored a game-high 30 points including the first 12 points for Texas A&M-Commerce in a 88-77 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Oklahoma.
After two early ties in the score, SOSU went ahead on a Channing Gann lay up with 13:11 left in the first half. The basket gave the Savage Storm an advantage they would not relinquish and sparked a 5-0 spurt. Mosley added 12 rebounds for her 18th career double double and in her third-straight game. Junior Nola Taylor had her third double double and second in a row, scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. In addition, junior Britney Jordan scored 20 points, dished out six assists and came up with two steals in the loss. The defeat drops A&M-Commerce to 18-8 overall and 7-4 in the Lone Star Conference North Division. Four starters for Southeastern Oklahoma State were in double figures including 18 each from Gann and Ashley Tucker. Gann was 4-for-5 from the three-point line and Tucker made 13 of 16 free throws in the win. Jessica Hocker and Destiny Brown added 17 and 16 points, respectively. With the win, Southeastern Oklahoma State raises its record to 15-10 overall and 6-4 in the LSC North. A lay up by Taylor cut the SOSU lead to three, 26-23 with 8:40 left in the opening half, the Savage Storm went on a 13-3 run over the next 6:32. The Lions scored six of the final eight points of the half to go into halftime trailing by seven, 41-34. The Lions relied on its frontline as they scored the first 23 points until Jordan hit a three pointer with 5:19 was left in the first half. To start the second half, A&M-Commerce scored 13 of the first 23 points to cut the SOSU lead to four, 51-47, when Jordan hit her second three pointer of the game with 16:20 to go. The Savage Storm retaliated with a 7-0 spurt to push the advantage to 11 on an Ashley Tucker lay up. The lead remained double digits for most of the final 14:16 as Southeastern Oklahoma State pushed the lead to as much as 15 en route to the victory.
Next, the Lions will close out the regular season as they host Cameron on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the A&M-Commerce Field House.
