Durant, Okla.

Durant, Okla. - Senior Kanani Marshal made eight three pointers en route to a game-high 30 points to lead the Texas A&M-Commerce women's basketball team to an 80-65 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday night in the Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium. The fourth three pointer hit by Marshal established a new Lone Star Conference single-season record for three pointers made. Marshal broke the eight-year old record of Lorie Martinez, who hit 104 during the 1997-98 season. For the season, the Madison, Wisconsin native has hit 109 three pointers.

With the win, the Lions raise their record to 20-8 overall and 8-2 in the Lone Star Conference North Division play as they now hold a two-game advantage in the conference standings over the Savage Storm. SOSU falls to 16-8 overall and 6-4 in conference play.

In addition to the 30 points from Marshal, Texas A&M-Commerce sophomore Britney Jordan added 22 in the win. The Lions defense forced 27 SOSU turnovers that led to 26 points and outscored the Savage Storm by an 18-0 margin. The Lions held the SOSU starting lineup to 18 points as the Savage Storm, they got a team-high 16 from Vivi Nascimento and Felicia Mitchell added 15 in the loss.

The Lions will remain on the road for its next contest when they travel to Lawton, Oklahoma to face Cameron on Wednesday at 6 pm. Earlier this year, Texas A&M-Commerce posted a 78-61 win over the Aggies on Jan. 31.
