Lions Win 70-49 Over East Central

With an 11-2 run to start the game, A&M-Commerce went on to post a 70-49 win over East Central on Saturday afternoon in Ada, Oklahoma.

Junior Britney Jordan scored a game-high 21 points, including 14 in the first half. The Peoria, Illinois native hit four three pointers - including a stretch of three in a row in the first 20 minutes. She was joined in double figures by senior Katedria Mosley, who added 19 and senior Melissa Bratton chipped in 11.

In addition to the 21 points from Jordan, she turned in a strong all-around game with a team-high and game-high eight rebounds to go along with two steals and an assist. With the win, A&M-Commerce improves to 12-5 overall and 1-1 in the Lone Star Conference North Division.

East Central (9-7, 0-2 LSC North) had a pair of players in double figures including Lacey Goldwire, who scored 14 and Kristie Dodigon added 11 off the bench.

In the win, A&M-Commerce outrebounded its opponent for the ninth time in the last 10 games. Also, the Lions shot 45.8% from the field for its second highest percentage for the season. Defensively, A&M-Commerce held East Central to 29.6% shooting from the field - the second lowest output of a Lions opponent in 2007-08.

The Lions return home for its next two games, starting with a 6 p.m. contest on Wednesday against Northeastern State.
