Final Stats

EDMOND,Okla. - The No. 7 South Central Regional Lions (9-7, 1-0) started up division play Wednesday as they traveled to Edmond, Okla., to face UCO, defeating the Bronchos 67-55. Just a few hours before tip-off, the women were named the No. 7 team in the South Central Regional rankings announced by the NCAA.

In game one of conference action, the Lions found themselves down at the half, but came back roaring in the second, scoring six points within the first 1:30 of the final period.

Rashida Wilson started the comeback with two back-to-back steals, scoring a layup and two good free throws to bring the Lions up by three, 27-24. Portia Mitchell came back just a few seconds later to sink an easy layup as she was left at the basket all alone to give the Lions a 29-24 edge.

The Lions continued to take over the second half, never allowing the Bronchos to catch up. A&M-C held UCO to just 32.8% from field goal range and scored 16 more points in the paint (34-18).

Rashia Wilson led all scorers with a season high of 20 points. She also recorded six steals and seven boards to lead the way. "Piggy" Mosely recorded her second consecutive double-double and fifth for the season, with 11 points and 14 boards. Andrea Lewis also contributed for the night scoring 11.
