Katedria Mosley Scores Career-High 31 in 85-83 Loss to Angelo State

A jumper by Angelo State's Kandra Lakey with 26 seconds remaining and teammate Lindsey Leatherman hit one of two free throws to lead visiting Angelo State to an 85-83 win over No. 18 Texas A&M University-Commerce on Thursday night.

The Rams (13-2) snapped a 19-game home winning streak for the Lions and the first time that A&M-Commerce has lost back-to-back games since a three-game skid early into last season.

Lakey and Leatherman each scored a team-high 21 points for the victorious Rams. The duo was joined in double digits by Camille Perkins, who added 15 and Nichelle Parks, who chipped in 10.

The Lions (10-4) got a career-high 31 points from senior Katedria Mosley, who became the all-time leader in blocked shots with a three rejection effort. She made 13 of 14 free throws and was a career-best two-for-two from beyond the three-point line. Junior Britney Jordan scored 22 and junior Brittany Williams added 10 in the loss.

A&M-Commerce led for most of the contest and as much as 10. The Rams went back in front on a three-point play by Lakey with 2:03 left in the contest.

Two free throws by Mosley put the Lions in front, 83-82 with 1:19 to go but it would be the final lead for A&M-Commerce. The Lions would be unable to score in its next two possessions, but the Rambelles converted on its final two possessions for the win.

The Lions will look to resume its winning ways with its final Lone Star Conference crossover game on Saturday at 2 pm against Abilene Christian.
