Blake Worden Moves into Tie for Seventh at NCAA South Central Regional

After 36 holes of participation at the NCAA South Central Regional, Texas A&M University-Commerce junior Blake Worden is tied for seventh with a two-over par 144 (73-71).

The junior trails individual leader, Collin Mayer of St. Edward's by nine strokes. Worden has posted 26 pars through 36 holes are the fifth-most in the 45-person field to go along with four birdies.

Mayer shot a six-under par 65 in Tuesday's second round to go along with a first day 69 for a two-day total of 134 and eight-under par. He leads Peter Svajlen of Cameron by four strokes as the field heads into Wednesday's final round.

Mayer and the host Hilltoppers are in the team lead with a 23-stroke advantage over Lone Star Conference member and tournament champion, Cameron. As a team, St. Edward's has posted a 558 (278-280) for the commanding advantage; meanwhile, the Aggies have shot a 581 (287-294) as they have placed four players in the top six spots after round two was complete.

The three-day event will conclude Wednesday when the field competes in the third and final round of the tournament at the Grey Rock Club in Austin, Texas. Also taking place at the same time is the NCAA South Regional with the top team between the two regionals along with the three next highest teams will advance to Houston, Texas for next week's national tournament.
