Blake Worden Tied for 14th Following Day One of NCAA South Regional

Texas A&M University-Commerce junior Blake Worden shot a two-over par 73 in Monday's first round of the NCAA South Central Regional at the Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin, Texas.
The Rowlett, Texas native is currently tied for 14th overall but only four strokes behind the three-way tie shared among the leaders - Collin Mayer and Andrew Workman of St. Edward's and Peter Svajlen of Cameron. In the first round, he posted birdies on holes number 10 and 14. The host Hilltoppers hold a 10-stroke lead on the team race after shooting a first day 278. In addition to having two of the three leaders, the next two towards the team score are just one stroke back. Worden's second round on Tuesday will get underway at 8:36 a.m. on hole #10.
