Junior Pinkey Hartline is in a tie for first place after firing back-to-back rounds of 69 to lead the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golf team at the Lone Star Conference Championship in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

The 69 shot by Hartline matches a career-best for the Lake Jackson, Texas native. To begin the day, he had four birdies in round one and six more in round two.

Led by Hartline, the Lions are tied for fifth along with Midwestern State and Southwestern Oklahoma with a 36-hole total of 585 (290-295). No. 27 Cameron holds a 13-stroke lead over the Lions after posting a 572 (288-284). The next three teams are separated by seven strokes. No. 25 Northeastern State is in second with a 574 (285-289), No. 10 Central Oklahoma is in third with a 575 and No. 19 Abilene Christian is in fourth with a 579 (288-291).

There is a three-way tie among Jeff Cox of Northeastern State, Zach Cleland of Northeastern State and Hartline for the first day lead with a 138, six under par.

The remainder of the Lions lineup including juniors Blake Worden and Eric Westerman are tied for 23rd with a 148 (75-73) and tied for 28th with a 149 (72-77), respectively. Sophomore Danny Jun is tied for 30th with a 150 (74-76) and freshman Ryan Hickey is 47th with a 155 (77-78).
 

 

The final round will get underway on Tuesday with Hickey teeing off No. 10 at 2:18 pm.
