Nabil El-Amin Named LSC North Division Special Teams Player of the Week
Oct. 2, 2007
Commerce, Texas
Recently, Texas A&M University-Commerce junior running back Nabil El-Amin (Rochester, N.Y./SUNY-Alfred) was named the Lone Star Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the Lions' most recent game against Central Oklahoma. In the game, he had 177 yards of total offense - 80 yards on the ground and a touchdown as well as a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The 97-yard kickoff touchdown return The return tied an A&M-Commerce Memorial Stadium record, equaling the mark that was set by Danieal Manning from Abilene Christian on November 1, 2003. It is the third-straight week that the Lions have earned the LSC North Division Special Teams Player of the Week honor. Junior punter Daniel Swaim had earned the honor in the previous two weeks and earlier this season, sophomore quarterback Trent Miller and junior quarterback Terry Mayo earned recognition as the LSC North Division Offensive Player of the Week. A&M-Commerce is back in action on Saturday at 2 pm in another LSC North Division contest at Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant. All the action can be heard online at KETR-FM (88.9 FM).
