Trent Miller Named Co-LSC North Offensive Player of the Week

Sept. 9, 2007

Commerce, Texas

For the second time in three weeks, the Texas A&M University-Commerce football team earned Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Player of the Week honors. Earning the honor for the Lions on Sunday was sophomore quarterback Trent Miller.

The Conroe, Texas native was starting in the place of junior Terry Mayo and in front of A&M-Commerce alumnus and Dallas Desperados quarterback Clint Dolezel had an impressive debut. Miller threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns to lead Texas A&M-Commerce to its first win over Texas A&M-Kingsville since 2001. It is the first time since Sept. 18, 2004 against Northeastern State that the Lions had three touchdown passes in a game.

Following the Lions' opening weekend of action against Pittsburg State, Mayo earned the weekly honor from the conference.
