Junior Quarterback Terry Mayo Earns Weekly Honor from Lone Star Conference

Aug. 26, 2007

Commerce, Texas

On Sunday, Texas A&M University-Commerce junior quarterback Terry Mayo was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Week.

In his debut for the Lions, Mayo threw for 260 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in front of a nationally-televised audience and No. 7 Pittsburg State. The 260 yards passing by Mayo are the most by an A&M-Commerce quarterback since the final game of the 2004 season when Buster Faulkner had 281 against West Texas A&M. He also had a 71-yard touchdown pass to JaMichael Palmer for the longest reception at A&M-Commerce since a 72-yard completion from Buster Faulkner to Victor Bennett against Eastern New Mexico on October 16, 2004.

Also earning weekly recognition was Andre Morgan of Southwestern Oklahoma (LSC North-Defensive); Patrick Weaver of Southwestern Oklahoma (LSC North-Special Teams); Daniel Polk of Midwestern State (LSC South-Offensive); Ryan Craven (LSC South-Defensive) and Cason Colliflower (LSC South-Midwestern State).
