A 38-yard field goal by Zach Wright with no time left led visiting Ouachita Baptist past Texas A&M-Commerce, 29-27, at Memorial Stadium in Commerce, Texas on Saturday night.

The Lions (0-2) trailed for three quarters until two fourth quarter touchdowns put A&M-Commerce in front 27-26 with 2:28 remaining in the game. In the final drive of the game, Ouachita Baptist (1-0) marched down the filed on four completions by Lance Parker to four different Tiger receivers, who set the stage for the game-winning field goal by Wright.

In the win, Parker connected on 26-for-40 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns in the win for OBU. He spread the ball among nine receivers, including Julius Pruitt, who hauled in eight passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

The Lions offense recorded 310 yards, including 145 in the final quarter. Midway through the fourth quarter, sophomore quarterback Trent Miller entered the game in replace of the injured Terry Mayo. After his first two passes were broken up by OBU defensive backs on his initial series, the Conroe, Texas native got in sync with the Lions receivers. On a third-and-five play, Miller hooked up with neighborhood friend and freshman Darr Nieuwoudt for a crucial first down and 15-yard gain. Miller completed his next three passes, including a 25-yard touchdown to a lunging David Wofford for a go-ahead strike. A two-point conversion for the Lions failed.

A&M-Commerce will next host Lone Star Conference South Division rival, Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 pm at Memorial Stadium.
