2007: 2007: Earned Lone Star Conference North Division Second Team honors... eighth in the LSC and 94th nationally in total offense (167.3) and ninth in the LSC and 75th nationally in passing efficiency (118.1)...named LSC North Division Offensive Player of the Week after a 16-for-30, 260-yard and two touchdown effort in the season opener against Pittsburg State (Aug. 25)...in front of the national television audience, he completed a 71-yard touchdown completion to JaMichael Palmer that tied the game at 14 against the Gorillas...had a season-high three touchdowns passing and 240 yards through the air as well as two rushing touchdowns on the ground in the 41-38 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State (Oct. 6) en route to being named LSC North Division Player of the Week for a second time...scored on a 55-yard touchdown scamper against Ouachita Baptist (Sept. 1)...had touchdown passes in seven contests and ran for a touchdown in four games.

Prior to A&M-Commerce: Rated as the No. 2 junior college quarterback recruit in the country according to CollegeFootballNews.com coming out of Reedley Junior College...also listed as the No. 27 prospect nationally...Rivals.com listed Mayo as the No. 41 junior college prospect in the nation...played two seasons at Reedley Junior College in California...graduated from Eastern Guilford High School in North Carolina in 1999 and was drafted in the 13th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft...spent four seasons as a center fielder in the Brewers organization...first-team all-state, all-region and all-conference honoree at Reedley...185-of-300 passing for 2,474 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2005 at Reedley...as a freshman in 2004, Mayo completed 178-of-365 passes for 2,128 yards and 13 touchdowns...lettered in football, baseball and basketball at Eastern Guilford High School.
