In his first season as the running backs coach for Texas A&M-Commerce is Todd Campbell.

Originally from Abilene, Texas, Campbell began coaching as he served asa student assistant for two years from 1996-97 working under offensive coordinator Rick Dykes at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. While with the Red Raiders, he worked with the receivers and the scout team defense. From 1999-2000, he was on the coaching staff at Sacred Heart Griffin High School in Springfield, Illinois. He coached the wide receivers and helped the team set three school records, post an 11-1 record and advance to the Class 5A state quarterfinals as well as win the Central State 8 Conference title.

Campbell worked for LRSSports' Digital Editing Business from 2000-2002 as a marketing represntative with a five-state area. He went on to serve in the Texas Army National Guard or the 36th Infantry Division, 112 th Armor and served on active duty until an injury ended his military commitment.

Off the field, Campbell is actively involved with Special Olympics, most recently with the Frisco Flyers Chapter.
