On three-straight possessions, host St. Mary's University hit three-straight three pointers to push the host Rattlers past Texas A&M-Commerce in a 67-63 win on Saturday night in San Antonio.

After Texas A&M-Commerce guard Leonard Bishop hit a pair of foul shots to trim the SMU lead to 49-46 with 9:15 left in the contest. The Rattlers knocked down three-straight three pointers on consecutive possessions to take a 55-46 lead with 8:38 left in the contest. Down the stretch, the Lions could only get as close as one, 58-57, with 4:39 left. After getting the deficit to three, Texas A&M-Commerce missed a pair of game-tying three pointer opportunities.

Three Lions were in double figures as they fall to 4-2 and were led by a game-high 19 from Lamar Searight; plus Kevin Widemond added 12 and Archie Beason scored 11. After shooting 53.8% in the opening half and building a four-point halftime lead, the Lions cooled off in the second half as they shot 30% from the field. Off 22 St. Mary's turnovers, Texas A&M-Commerce turned that into 21 points. The win improves the Rattlers to 3-2 on the season. SMU got 39 points from its bench, including a team-high 17 from Jarvis Lee and 14 from Jawan Bailey.
