Senior Archie Beason scored nine of the first 15 in the second half and the last 11 points of the first half en route to a game-high and career-high 22 points to lead Texas A&M-Commerce to an 89-66 rout over Chico State.

The Lions landed three players in double figures - Beason with 22, Lamar Searight added 14 and Champ Sylvester scored 12 - to raise their record to 2-1. Chico State center Frank Igbekoyi led the Wilcats with 16 points and seven rebounds, who fall to 0-2 on the season.

In the win, A&M-Commerce made 50% of their shots from the field and missed just one free throw. In addition, they outrebounded Chico State, 44-29 and outscored them 48-30 on points in the paint.

Trailing for the second time early in the contest, 11-10, Texas A&M-Commerce went on a 15-5 run to take a 26-16 lead. During the run, Bobby Joshua scored seven-straight points to spark the Lions.

Midway through the second half, the Lions blew the game wide open with a 13-2 run to take a 59-37 lead. During the run, Beason scored seven in a row for A&M-Commerce. The Lions extended the margin to as much as 32 on a pair of occasions in the win.

Texas A&M-Commerce is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 21 when they host Texas College at 7 p.m.
