Final Stats

LAWTON, Okla. - A series of three -point shots determined the Lions' fate against the Aggies Wednesday night, as A&M-Commerce (12-8, 2-3) defeated Cameron 95-91 in overtime.

A&M-Commerce found themselves down by as much as 12 points twice in the second half , making a comeback with just 44 seconds left after being down by 10, to pull themselves into overtime for the third time this season, as Jermart Miller sunk a three right at the buzzer to go into extra minutes and tie the game at 80.

In overtime, the Lions took command scoring seven points right at the start, not giving the Aggies an opportunity to shoot until three minutes into OT. The Aggies pulled themselves within two with just 23 seconds left in OT, but a series of free throw shots gave the Lions the advantage for the night to give them their twelfth win of the season.

Lamar Searight became the playmaker of the night scoring eight points in the second half within a 30 second span to pull the Lions within two, 76-74, before Ellis Kidd sunk in a three pointer with four seconds left to put the Lions within one 78-77, which later set up Jermart Miller to sink a shot from downtown at the buzzer for the second time in a week.

The Lions shot 82 percent from the line, which ranks as the third best percentage behind the charity stripe for the season as a team. A&M-Commerce also shot 41 percent from field goal range and recorded just nine turnovers for the night. It was the third game this season that the Lions turned the ball over in single digits and the second time they allowed nine turn arounds this year.
