Oct. 9, 2007
For the first time since the 2005 season, the Texas A&M
University-Commerce men's cross country team is ranked in the latest United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Regional Poll.
The Lions emerged into this week's poll at No. 10 after recently defeating three NCAA South Regional ranked teams -- No. 3 Alabama-Huntsville (they were 13th), No. 5 Columbus State (they were 22nd), No. 9 Christian Brothers (they were 18th) in the NCAA South Regional Rankings and previously ranked No. 10 Northwest Missouri State (they were 16th) at the Brooks Memphis Twilight. The only Division II schools that they lost to were Harding, who is No. 1 in the latest NCAA South Regional Rankings and Missouri Rolla, who is fourth in the latest Great Lakes rankings. Next, the Lions will host the Lone Star Conference Championships at Eddie Moore Park in Commerce on Saturday, Oct. 20. USTFCCCA South Central Regional Poll
