STEPHENVILLE, TX- The Texas A&M University-Commerce cross-country teams were back in action this week at Tarleton State Invitational today. The men and women both had good showings at the meet taking 1st and 3rd place overall respectively.

The conference ranked men, marched into a victory at Tarleton with the top five individual placing in the meet. Leading for the men, was Senior Ryan Dirickson who won the invitational in Stephenville with the time of 28:07.

The Lady Lions were led by Junior Nikki Williams, taking a third place finish overall with a time of 19:53. Other finishes for the Lions placed sixth, seventh, and fourteenth respectively.

Coach Patrick Ponder of the Lions voiced that he is proud of what both teams accomplished this week.

"I am proud of the way both teams performed today. Now we will be gearing up for conference," Ponder said.

The Lions will be off of the next couple of weeks, resuming action on October 22, where they will compete in the Lone Star Conference Championships in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
