Prior to A&M-Commerce: A four-year letterwinner in track and field and two-year letterwinner in cross country at Sachse High School...a two-time all-district and team MVP selection in cross country...as a junior, he was the district champion in cross country and in the 1600 and 3200-meter run...named team MVP as a junior in track and field...served as team captain during his senior year.
