Track and Field Signs Three

Texas A&M University-Commerce track and field coach Rich Lawrence announced today the signing of Randahl Hickman (Celeste, Texas/Hill College/Celeste HS), Logan Kelly (Anna, Texas/Grayson Community College/Anna HS) and Tyler Tyndell (Paris, Texas/Oklahoma Baptist University/Paris HS). Hickman is a 2004 graduate of Celeste High School, where she was a three-sport letterwinner in track and field, basketball and cheerleading. She reached the state finals in track and field all four years of high school. She finished fourth in the state in the 200-meter dash as a sophomore and fifth as a junior. She spent the last two years at Hill College, where she played on their basketball team and earned academic honors as a freshman in 2005. Her mother, Barbara played college basketball and sister, Shalonda played college basketball at the University of Alabama, where she ranks eighth all-time in scoring and went on to play in the WNBA for four years. Kelly is a 2005 graduate of Anna High School, where he competed on both the cross country and track and field team. As a senior, he qualified for the regional meet in the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter run as well as the triple jump. In cross country, he was a three-time regional qualifier and member of the two-time district champions. He served as the team captain of both teams as a senior. Tyndell is a 2006 graduate of Paris High School and recently spent his freshman season at Oklahoma Baptist University. He was an all-region and all-conference cross country performer in 2006. The cross country team advanced to the NAIA national championships, where they placed fourth and as an individual, he placed 55th. He was a national qualifier in the 5,000-meter run for the NAIA indoor track and field championships in 2007. Tyndell holds the Paris High School record in the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter run, where he was a two-time state qualifier in cross country and track and field. He finished sixth in the state in the 3,200-meter run as a senior.
