La'Shara Jefferson Earns Second Lone Star Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week Honor

Texas A&M University-Commerce junior La'Shara Jefferson earned her second Lone Star Conference Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Week honor on Wednesday afternoon.
Jefferson shares the weekly honor with Laryssa Hice of Angelo State University. The junior from Lancaster recently recorded a career-best throw of 159-4 at last Thursday's Mean Green Twilight. The mark exceeds the NCAA-provisional mark and is currently the second best throw in the nation. Jefferson and the Lions will be competing this weekend at the Lone Star Conference Championships, starting on Friday, May 2nd at Abilene Christian University. Earlier this year, she earned the weekly LSC recognition on April 2nd
following a third-place finish in the discus and 16th-place finish in the
shot put at the Bobby Lane Invitational.
