Texas A&M University-Commerce junior Logan Kelly (Van Alstyne, Texas/Anna HS) was recently one of five individuals selected as recipients of the Mayo Scholarship at the recent Honors Day at the university.

Kelly was one of the four recipients of the $1,500 honorable mention scholarship for his academic accomplishments. As part of the criteria, scholarship recipients must have a composite grade-point average of 3.5 or better, a 3.5 or better grade-point average on coursework at A&M-Commerce, completed at least 15 hours in the last calendar year and enrolled in at least 12 hours during the spring semester. In addition, the scholarship recipients are required to return to the university for two full semesters during the 2008-09 academic year.

Kelly is a freshman member of the A&M-Commerce track and field and cross country teams. He most recently posted a season-best time of 4:18.79 in the 1,500-meter run at the Mean Green Twilight on April 24th A&M-Commerce will be competing at the Lone Star Conference Championships, starting on Friday, May 2nd.
