Player Profile

Position:
Graduate Assistant

Brian Stephenson is in his second year as a graduate assistant for the Texas A&M University-Commerce track and field team. He was a three-year letterwinner at the University of North Texas, where he earned all-Sun Belt Conference recognition as members of the mile and distance medley relay. At UNT, he was an all-conference runner in the 800-meter run, both indoors and outdoors, in 2002 in leading the Mean Green to a Sun Belt Conference title. He is a 1998 graduate of Lake Highlands High School, where he was a two-year letterwinner in track and field and earned a letter also in cross country.

From 2003 to 2006, he served as the head cross country and assistant track and field coach at Arlington James Bowie High School. In 2006, his 4x400-meter relay team reached the state championships and posted the fifth-fastest time in the nation.

Stephenson is currently pursuing his master's degree in kinesiology from A&M-Commerce. He is the son of William Stephenson and Jacqueline Maher and has two brothers, Jonathan and Jarrett.
