Prior to A&M-Commerce:As a senior, he placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (21.84) at the UIL State Championships...at the UIL Region 3A meet at A&M-Commerce, finished first in the 200-meter dash (21.80) and third in the 100-meter dash (10.80)...as a junior, he finished third in the 200-meter dash (21.66) at the UIL State Championships...at the UIL Region 2A meet, he was second in the 200-meter dash (21.99) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (10.81). Also played football, earning Texas Sports Writers Association All-State honors as a kick returner...lettered in baseball, basketball, football and track and field.
