Warren Young is in his first year as the Director of Sports Medicine at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Most recently, he served as the Assistant Football Athletic Trainer and the Director of Undergraduate Student Athletic Trainer program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas for the last five years. While with the football team, he has supervised and assigned duties for two assistant athletic trainers, two graduate assistants and 20 student assistants. He was also involved with the coordination of all athletic training supplies for practices and games. Before working with the football team, he served as the head track and field and cross country athletic trainer, where he worked with six Olympians, three NCAA champions and 26 All-Americans. Young has also been involved with student athletic trainers as well as sports coverage, including track and field and cross country. In addition to his intercollegiate experience, he has worked as an assistant athletic trainer for a Major League Soccer team and a National Football League team. Both of these experiences enabled him to work with professional athletes and the services for these year-round participants. Away from work, he has been actively involved with the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association, Jesuit College Preparatory School and Ryan Gibson Foundation for Leukemia Advocacy. Young is engaged to Annie Taszarek and they plan to get married in the spring of 2008. |
